Welcome Message from LEAC
We are very excited about the 2009-2010 school year.  Last year the Latino Education Advisory Council (LEAC) was in the process of reestablishing the council; which included electing a new Executive Board.  We are pleased with the progress made thus far and we hope to continue to grow this year.  We are looking for individuals to be involved with LEAC as we help the district understand the needs of the Latino Community within Denver Public Schools.  This can include students, parents, educators, and others interested in assisting LEAC with our goals.  We are currently working on developing a strategic plan.  We invite you all to be a part of this important process because we strongly value the voice of the community.  We hope to unveil the plan in February 2010.

We will also continue with our Annual Awards program scheduled to take place in April 2010.  This is an early reminder to be on the look out for outstanding individuals to nominate.  Online nominating will open in early March.  This is a wonderful tradition that we hope will go on for many years to come.  Our website is fully functional, so log on for regular announcements and happenings around the district.  If you have something you would like posted please let send an email to info@latinoeducationadvisorycouncil.com.  We are happy to post pictures of events that promote positive images of our students or general announcements.
We hope to see you at our next meeting!
